As much as we love your business, the last thing we want is to see any unnecessary accidents due to carelessness. Take a minute and read over some of our tips for driving in bad weather!
*Drive slowly and carefully, especially when making curves. When you need to stop or slow down, brake softly and avoid locking the wheels.
*If you begin to slid, try your best to remain calm. Ease your foot off of the gas and turn your wheel in the direction that you want your car to go. Keep turning until you get your car to straighten out.
*Always make sure that your tires are inflated properly and get them rotated often. This will help keep your car from sliding in slippery conditions.
*Avoid using cruise control. While it can be helpful on dry roads, cruise control may make it more likely that you will not be able to control your vehicle. You may have to slow down by easing off the accelerator, which is not an option when you’re in cruise control.
*Pull over. If you feel uneasy, cannot see the road through your wipers, or are having difficulty controlling your vehicle-do not hesitate to pull your vehicle over to the side of the road.
*Do not try to change your speed or directions in the event that you are hydroplaning.
*Never drive through running water that you cannot see the road through. Pull over or look for another route.
*Keep a greater distance than usual from the vehicles in front of you.
Enjoy this rainy season, but please be safe!
